# Use OpenClaw with open models
URL: https://docs.munito.ai/openclaw

The Munito AI plugin for [OpenClaw](https://github.com/openclaw/openclaw) adds Munito AI as a model provider.
Create an [API key](https://console.munito.ai/keys), then install the plugin and set up the provider:

```bash
openclaw plugins install npm:@munitoai/openclaw-provider
openclaw onboard --auth-choice munito-api-key
```

OpenClaw asks you to confirm the source of the plugin and to accept its capabilities.
The setup asks for the key. OpenClaw can also read it from `MUNITO_API_KEY`.
Then choose a model, such as `munito/zai-org/glm-5.3-flash`.

The plugin adds two providers that use the same key. The EU provider processes each request in the EU, see [Regions](https://docs.munito.ai/regions).

| Provider    | Base URL                                | Region |
| ----------- | --------------------------------------- | ------ |
| `munito`    | `https://api.munito.ai/inference/v1`    | Any    |
| `munito-eu` | `https://api.eu.munito.ai/inference/v1` | EU     |

Each model comes with its context window, its maximum output and its price.

## Reasoning effort [#reasoning-effort]

OpenClaw sends its thinking level as `reasoning_effort`, and Munito AI moves each level to the nearest level that the model has.
When thinking is off, the plugin sends `none`. A model that always reasons, such as GLM-5.3-Flash, then runs its lowest level.
See [Reasoning models](https://docs.munito.ai/reasoning).

## Prompt cache [#prompt-cache]

OpenClaw sends the session ID as `prompt_cache_key`, and Munito AI keeps the conversation on its prompt cache.
See [Prompt caching](https://docs.munito.ai/prompt-caching).

The plugin is open source, in [munitoai/openclaw-provider](https://github.com/munitoai/openclaw-provider).
