Check document text for required information, extract exact source quotes, and flag missing or uncertain items for a reviewer.
Check document text against a fixed checklist with a Munito AI chat model. Return a source quote for each item that the model finds. Use the result to help a person review the document.
This recipe checks whether information appears in text. It does not verify an identity, authenticate a document, or approve a contract.
Prepare the text
For a PDF or scan, use PDF to Markdown first. Keep page identifiers with the text so that a reviewer can find each quote in the original document. The example below uses a short fictional document with page labels.

results.append({**finding.model_dump(), "pages": matches})
print(json.dumps({"review_required": True, "findings": results}, indent=2))Run the script:
uv run --with openai --with pydantic review_document.pyThe expected results are found for support hours and cancellation notice, and not_found for the renewal date.
A quote match confirms that the text exists. It does not establish that the clause meets your requirement.
Review longer documents
Split long documents into sections and keep their page identifiers.
Check each requirement against the relevant sections, then review conflicting findings together.
Use not_found only for the text that you actually checked.
An OCR error or an omitted page can hide a clause.
Keep model suggestions separate from the reviewer's decision. Send missing fields, invalid results, and conflicting clauses to the reviewer with the original pages.
Region and cost
The script uses EU inference and store=False.
An OCR step adds a page charge; each checklist request adds input and output tokens.
Your source files and review records use your application's storage policy.
